I was selected by Mommy Parties to host an Oral B Stages party. The good people at Mommy Parties and Oral B sent us some fun stuff to have a great time and I was excited to host this party because I think good dental hygiene is so incredibly important and we love any excuse to get together with friends and family and have a party.
We had balloons
Party Food
Oral B sent us some great recipes so the kids and I put on our aprons and tried out some recipes. Olivia and Emily made Pooh's Pizza. Sophia and Jake dished up Piglet's Parfaits and the Hundred Acre Wood Trail Mix. And because I am an advocate of a balanced diet and require my kids to eat fruits and veggies at every meal we also added some Rabbit Food in for good measure. In between helping the kids I had fun using my Cricut to make some cute little signs for the food to get into the Winnie the Pooh spirit

We had popcorn and kool-aid bursts
To set the theme of the night and the theme of our products we were sent the new Winnie the Pooh movie so we (most of the kids anyway) watched a movie and ate snacks. This was a super cute movie. Classic and heartwarming and at 63 minutes long, the perfect movie for the under 5 set, at the end most of the kids were still sitting and watching the movie, which doesn't happen too often around our house.
As soon as the party started each of the kids laid claim to their balloons. It led to the festive spirit to have balloons all over the family room.
After playing a few games and generally just playing, which is what happens when you have 15 kids aged 1-8 together, we tested out our new toothbrushes. However, before we hit the bathroom to brush our teeth, we reviewed good hygiene, reiterated for the littler ones that we don't eat toothpaste no matter how yummy it tastes and talked about brushing our tongues too. Oral B sent us some very basic flash cards which I have to admit was the only disappointment of the pack, it was, as I said very basic, i.e this is a toothbrush, this is toothpaste, etc. but we talked a little bit more about making sure we get all of the cavity bugs out of our teeth. Olivia also shared with the kids that the toothpaste, which is the only kids toothpaste I buy because it is the only toothpaste my kids like, also is a great way to clean Wii games and that not only does it help clean your teeth it helps clean your games too.
The product review focus was on their Stage I (4-24 month) and Stage II (2-4 year) toothbrushes, which the bulk of our guests were, but since we are fortunate to live a tight knit community all of the friends we invited also have older siblings Olivia's age so we had 3 in the 4-24 month age, 6 in the 2-4 age and and 6 in the 5-8 age. I would have loved having some of their Stage III (5-7 years) to hand out too and I didn't want any of the siblings we invited to be left out so my very awesome brother-in-law who is an orthodontist in Arizona hooked me up with some Oral B toothbrushes for the older kids too without me having to go and buy 6 more toothbrushes. Thanks Steve and Aspen Orthodontics!!!

In addition to the balloons we were provided Goody Bags for all of the kids
We were sent products for 11 kids but since we had more than that, 15 total, the kids helped me put together family bags instead of individual goody bags, each family received a toothbrush for their family and 2 new toothpastes
Toothbrushes
and two bottles of Disney Winnie the Pooh Bedtime Body Wash.
Since I am already a huge consumer of Oral B toothpaste (hence the reminder to the kids not to eat it) I was most excited to try the Lavender and Honey Bedtime Body Wash. I have honestly always had good luck with Disney bath products and I was excited to try it. My oldest and youngest have extreme eczema and get the short end of the stick with bath products, which is particularly annoying to Olivia. She always wants the fun bath products but unfortunately can't handle much beyond the Cetaphil. So I thought we would try it once or twice and if it didn't work out then Sophia and I could share it but to my joy it was very mild, it didn't irritate their skin and left them smelling heavenly and relaxed and ready for bed.
Overall I would say it was a great night. I have had a few of the moms thank me for hosting the party saying that their kids were excited to get new toothbrushes and bath products and have been willing to get in the bath and brush their teeth without threats. I am glad the kids were excited, although I am sure the cooperation will wear off all too soon.
Thanks again Mommy Parties and Oral B Stages!
